The song of family

“You don’t love someone for their looks, or their clothes, or for their fancy car, but because they sing a song only you can hear.”

~ Oscar Wilde

Today I received something precious. My cousin Milton sent four photos I’d never seen.

Have a look:

The happy couple, my parents, and the wedding party

From left: Bill Lawyer, Carol Sather, Rod Geier (dad), Margaret Appell Geier (mom), Lalla Butterfield Geier Haggie (grandma), Eddie Haggie (grandpa), and Primo Mazzoncini, my mother’s step father. Bill was dad’s friend, and Carol is mom’s sister.

From left: grandpa Eddie, grandma Lalla, Primo, and mom’s mother, my other grandma, Margaret Adelaide Patterson Appell Mazzoncini. This may be the only photo we have of my two grandmothers together.

Lastly, Milton sent a photo from a favorite family hang out, Hood Canal in Washington state. Grandma and grandpa owned a cabin there where the family often vacationed. Dad loved the place and often wished he’d been able to buy it before it was sold.

If you look closely in the trunk on the left you will catch a glimpse of a new baby. We believe this is my sister Lynne. The year was 1958.

My mother, sister, and I have never seen these photos. They are precious additions to our collection.

Thank you cousin Milton, and welcome to my site! ❤

    1. Hi, I am SO VERY glad. That sure made me smile! I received more photos from my cousin who has been quite generous sharing them with my sister, me, and our mother. Because our father has passed, it is indescribable to receive photos we’ve never seen of dad. Cousins are wonderful. 🙂 Hope you and yours are enjoying a new beginning.

There is nearly half a roll of baby pictures from that day. Including the obligatory naked baby photos.
